Psalm 78:7-9

⁷ That they should set their confidence in God
And ^(A)not forget the deeds of God,
But ^(B)observe His commandments,
⁸ And ^(C)not be like their fathers,
A ^(D)stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that ^(E)did not ^[a]prepare its heart
And whose spirit was not ^(F)faithful to God.

⁹ The sons of Ephraim ^[b]were ^(G)archers equipped with bows,
Yet ^(H)they turned back in the day of battle.
